In accordance with court orders, Anchorperson was detained right away in Attock after being released.
Since taking journalist Imran Riaz Khan into prison nearly 30 hours after being granted post-arrest bail by a municipal court in Attock, the Chakwal police have failed to bring him before any court of law.
Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq, who is representing Riaz, bemoaned the police's lack of assistance in the case when speaking to The Express Tribune.
He disclosed that neither the journalist nor anyone else had been brought before a magistrate court.
The attorney added that Riaz was not being given access to any facilities and was not permitted to communicate with anyone.
Imran Riaz Khan, a vociferous opponent of the administration, was taken into custody late on Tuesday from the Islamabad Toll Plaza despite the Islamabad High Court having already granted him pre-arrest bail.
The journalist has been charged in numerous cases, all of which, in his words, stem from his refusal to "stop speaking the truth."
More than a dozen FIRs have recently been filed against him on serious counts like aiding in rebellion and criticising state institutions.
Over a dozen Punjab police officers were visible encircling his car in a video of his detention that quickly became popular on social media.
