Apple is finally making iOS 15.6 available to everyone, along with iPad OS 15.6, a few months after seeding beta 1. There aren't many new features for iPhones and iPads compared to prior versions because Apple is concentrating on iOS 16 and iPad OS 16.
The Release Candidate version 2 seeded last week is the same as the build that was released today, 19G71. The focus of iOS 15.6 is on general advancements and bug fixes while making little adjustments here and there. Soon, Apple will begin to distribute this update wirelessly.
The TV app now includes the ability to pause, fast-forward, or rewind a live sporting event that has already started.
Fixes an issue where Settings may continue to suggest that device storage is full even if it is available.
fixes a problem that could make Braille devices respond slowly or not at all while reading text in Mail.
removes a bug that might cause a tab in Safari to go to a previous page.
Additionally, Apple has addressed a flaw that 9to5Mac recently discovered in Apple Books in iOS 15.5 with iOS 15.6. When attempting to open any book in the app, users were reporting crashes.
In addition to iOS 15.6, Apple is also releasing tv OS 15.6, macOS 12.5, iPad OS 15.6, and watch OS 8.7, however it's not obvious what changes these operating systems bring.
The company began previewing iOS 16, iPad OS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watch OS 9, and tv OS 16 in June. Since these new operating systems are scheduled to go on sale later this fall and are currently being tested by the general public, they are the subject of much attention.
Features for continuity are being added by Apple to all of these systems. New multitasking features are included in iOS 16, iPad OS 16, macOS Ventura, watch OS 9, and watch OS 9, whereas tv OS 16 was almost completely overlooked by Apple.
